He stood in the window, and every inch of her screamed to go with him. She wanted to wrap her arms around him, ride away with him into the night, and be his forever more, but he hadn't asked her yet. He'd told her he loved her in every possible way without actually saying the words, but she didn't need the dressing of romantic words on their relationship to know that he cared for her as deeply as she did for him.

He tossed her a rose. She caught it and kissed its soft, red bud. "Until later, senorita," Zorro called, blowing her a kiss before jumping out of the window.

She understood the translation of the words he didn't speak, the way his eyes gazed into hers, and how they both trembled when they touched. Zorro loved her, and he would always return! They never knew how long it would be until they were again together. Even a moment apart was more than they wanted, but he'd always return to her. One day, when peace reigned and their people were free, she'd finally speak the words, "I love you"; her heart soared for she knew he'd say them back.
